Alanna Russell is a California native turned Oregonian. Alanna works as the School Health Coordinator for Sheridan School District and as a nurse in the OHSU pediatric urology clinic. She is a Nationally Board Certified School Nurse and a member of the Oregon School Nurse Association’s Legislative andDEI committees. Alanna earned a Bachelors of Molecular Biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz and a Bachelors of Nursing from California State University, San Marcos.
She began her nursing career four years ago as a School Nurse for multiple school districts across Yamhill and Polk counties. In addition to school nursing, Alanna has worked in pediatric home health and outpatient pediatrics. Alanna went on to earn her Masters of Nursing in Population Health at Washington State University, Vancouver as well as a graduate certificate in Nursing Education. Alanna’s nursing practice is focused on empowering clients, families and communities to manage their health in a way that is meaningful to them, as well as advocating for the critical role of community-based nursing.
She currently lives in McMinnville with her husband, dog, two cats, and bird. When she isn’t working, Alanna enjoys exploring the Pacific Northwest with her husband and dog, attempting to garden, and learning about whales.
